I felt a real kinship with that dude, what with his work in the breaks world (which had been my musical focus right up until stumbling into mashups) and his sort of culture-jammy remix-y politically-aware attitude. We played the heck out of "We Want Your Soul" on LIVE 105 in a sort of vain attempt to make it a hit but it never really caught on. I still believe his "Smells Like Freeland" mix of Nirvana is an absolute masterpiece, with nothing even close to it in the mashup/remix world, as a "rearrangement" of (mostly) just the original track. I was dumbfounded with excitement when he came in to do a guest Mixx but that's a tale for that episode. So back to this one: mixing is actually not bad, even it if is at standard club speed for most of the first 2/3 of the show. Evanescence over White Stripes is a fail, but the other segues are fine, if intense. The show is saved by the more or less unmixed inclusion of four awesome and silly mashups at the end; of course Gay Muppet Bar would go on to become a LIVE 105 favorite.
